The need for bigger and better displays is also on the rise. More people than ever before are using their phones to watch videos, play games, and listen to music. The majority of video consumption (over 66%) now takes place on mobile devices, according to a previous eMarketer study.
Despite Netflix and Hulu’s continued dominance, niche streaming companies like Disney+ and Peacock are seeing explosive growth. Smartphones have become a significant platform for streaming content, and there is a greater need than ever for instant gratification in the form of entertainment.
As a direct result of this growth, businesses now put a lot of value on their online profiles. Now more than ever, companies and groups are trying to connect with consumers via mediums like smartphones and other portable media players.
Camera and Battery
According to a recent industry study, smartphone consumers care most about having longer battery life and better picture quality. Unfortunately, these two things and many other extra features standard on modern phones influence how resources are used.
Keeping the batteries small enough to fit in the phone and strong enough to last all day is hard, especially since smartphone users want better photos, more lens options, and the ability to zoom in and out indefinitely.
Large screen
A bigger screen is preferable because of all consumers’ finger-based actions (touch, scroll, zoom, and click) on their phones. This feature may be used in conjunction with the camera or video interactivity already available, whether having a conversation, watching a film, or playing a game, further expanding the scope of the multi-media experience.
Because smartphones are touch screens, the screen needs to be wide enough to fit even the most extensive hands. This large screen makes it possible to do more than one thing at once and switch between apps quickly.
5G technology

Smartphones need to stay thin, so any extra space needs to go somewhere else. The resulting device is noticeably larger in stature compared to its forebears’ mobile phones. It appeared to be the end of the road for tiny smartphones in 2018 when Apple and Sony both discontinued their smaller lines (the iPhone SE and the Sony Compact, respectively). Still, then Apple surprised everyone by announcing the iPhone 12 mini. Even so, its time on earth is drawing close.
Challengers
It’s always a struggle to improve it and make it smaller. A phone should be comfortable to hold and simple to use with the thumb since we all have one.
But as phone sizes grew, thumb-based navigation became harder to do with only one hand. Present-day iPhones have a specialized “one-handed mode,” and the next Android 12 OS seems to have a similar feature built-in.
